Art Director Salaries and Job Description

An art designer is a person who focuses on visual artistic expression. These people will often take different elements of an original artistic project, such as an image or a symbol, and combine them into a piece that matches a particular aesthetic. For example, if you’re working on a painting you may be required to put flowers and other items around the painting to help make it visually appealing. The same goes for other types of artwork, such as advertising or logos. If you were to look at an advertising poster or logo, you would immediately know that it is created by an art designer.

A graphic designer is a person who is primarily responsible for the creation of advertising materials and designs, but they can collaborate with other people in the production department as well. Production artists are artists who create the models and paintings that will be used for illustrations and other types of print media. Designers can work as producers and artists to create concept art and layouts. The positions can be very diverse, and designers can either be in charge of the entire production process or have varying responsibilities depending on where they work.

Although there are many different design degrees, the two most common job titles are graphic artist and art director. The responsibilities of each individual can vary, but in general a graphic designer will be responsible for coming up with ideas and determining how to present those ideas to the production department. An art director will take those ideas and art director graphic images and turn them into a real artistic creation. Art directors can also collaborate with production artists and designers to create concept arts and illustrations for advertising campaigns.
