CSS Style Sheets for Reports

The Style Designer is primarily a visual tool within the report designer that is used to generate and edit visual styles in reports. To open the Style Designer, click on the “Styles” icon in the ribbon and choose the Style Designer option. The following image shows the Style Designer window:

There are various buttons in this window. Each button corresponds to a different column in the column view pane in the Styles dialog box. Each of the buttons has a different value, which changes when the corresponding key is pressed or released.

To apply a style to a report, first select it in the Style Designer panes and then drag the style from the Style Designer pane to the column or rows within the report styles dialog box. After selecting a style in the Style Designer, type the desired character into the text box and then press the Enter key. This will replace the selected style with the specified character in your choice. Finally, change the values to fit the specified width and height or enter a negative style number to ignore the style. This completes applying the style to your report styles dialog box. that you start creating reports, choose the Style Designer from the options on the “View” tool. Click the “Edit” link from the “Behavior” drop-down list. This will open the Style Designer dialog box where you can modify the style and values as desired. You can also add, modify and delete existing style elements. To successfully apply the new style, click the “Save” button on the lower left corner of the dialog box.
